Business value
From confirmed follow-through to money, after full cost
The three workflows produce visibility first. Whether that becomes financial value depends on what the business can show happened next, compared with what the workflow cost during the same period.
Start with confirmed follow-through
Look for evidence that an inquiry reached an agreed next step: a callback led to a site visit, a representative took over a prepared call, or approved scope reached delivery. Then check what actually followed from it.
Then look for money, separately
Ask whether that follow-through led to additional delivered, profitable work or to spending the business actually avoided. Less chasing and better service are real benefits; keep them in their own column until a financial effect is shown.
Compare benefit and cost in one period
Set the benefit beside every cost of the workflow for the same months. A before-and-after change can suggest an effect, but other changes in that period, such as seasonality or staffing, need checking before the workflow gets credit.
Choose one workflow and period, agree what evidence of follow-through and money would count, and list known and unknown costs before claiming any return.
